Who Asked for AI? A Critical Discussion on the Implications of Adopting Artificial Intelligence Tools on Our Campus, Instruction, and Learning

A narrative about the supposed inevitability of Al-everything, and the speed at which we are compelled to adjust and adapt to the hungry needs of this industry, brings us to the table. We invite all interested UIC students, faculty, and staff to join our discussion around four key questions:

  • Does Al diffusion at UIC reflect the mission of the university?
  • Who stands to benefit and be harmed?
  • Are the supposed benefits of Al-assisted learning and research actually proven?
  • How are students experiencing Al integration at UIC?
