This program is presented by the Latino Cultural Center and the Arab American Cultural Center    When: Monday, February 17th, 2025  Where: Latino Cultural Center-Lecture Center B2  Time: 5:00pm-7:00pm  RSVP: https://go.uic.edu/TatreezWorkshop2025    Join us for a brief presentation and hands-on workshop learning the historical significance of the traditional Palestinian embroidery practice, known as tatreez. Learn to stitch the ?Star of Bethlehem' embroidery motif that originated in Palestine and is widely found across Central American and Mexican embroidery. Workshop led by Palestinian artist, Tatreez Jenin (@tatreezjenin).    This program is co-developed by UIC students organizations Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Mexican Students de Aztlan (MeSA). This program kicks off the first of various program series for the 2025 @sjpuic Apartheid week.    This program is cosponsored by the UIC Women's Leadership and Resource Center (WLRC) and Gender and Women's Studies (GWS) at UIC.    All materials provided. Take home your very own tatreez!
