Dr. Cindy Tekobbe Publishes Co-edited Special Issue “Symposium on Bisexual Digital Rhetorics” in Rhetoric Review
Introduction
The GWS Program congratulates Dr. Cindy Tekobbe, Assistant Professor Gender and Women’s Studies and Communication, on the publication of the “Symposium on Bisexual Digital Rhetorics,” a special issue she co-edited for the journal Rhetoric Review.
Dr. Tekobbe and her co-editor Dr. Derek M. Sparby also co-authored “Bisexual Digital Rhetorics: Why Bi and Why Now?,” the introductory article for the special issue. As they write, “The goal of this symposium is to elevate the voices of bisexual and queer scholars while increasing the visibility of bisexual rhetorics…In these articles, we share a diverse and intersectional group of authors who begin to assemble a messy puzzle of what it means to be bisexual in digital spaces, to be an individual whose very existence results in the dissolution of binaries and resists neat categorization.” This collection centers bisexual identities, confronts political pressures on queer communities, and shows how powerful feminist and GWS scholarship can be.
Congratulations, Dr. Cindy Tekobbe and Dr. Derek M. Sparby! The GWS Program stands proudly behind your dedication and transformative contributions!
