UIC Student Laptop/Hotspot Loan Request Form:

  • UIC has a limited availability of laptops and wifi hotspots to loan to UIC students who do not have access to either/or in order to make virtual learning possible. WiFI Providers Offering Some Free Hotspots:

  • Xfinity Wifi Free for Everyone: Xfinity announced Friday that it will make its WiFi hotspots free to use by everyone for the next 60 days starting March 13 as part of its reaction to the coronavirus crisis. Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser.
  • AT&T is offering low-cost wireline home Internet service to qualifying households:
With at least one resident who participates in the U.S. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and
With an address in AT&T’s 21-state service area, at which we offer wireline home Internet service, and
Without outstanding debt for AT&T fixed Internet service within the last six months or outstanding debt incurred under this program.
