About the Speakers:
- Alec Nevala-Lee is an American biographer, novelist, and science fiction writer, and a Hugo and Locus Award finalist for Astounding: John W. Campbell, Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, L. Ron Hubbard, and the Golden Age of Science Fiction.
- Alec Pollak is a Ph.D. candidate in English at Cornell University. Her research focuses on the impact of literary estates, archival management, and intellectual property law on the legacies of 20th-century authors. Her writing has been published in MELUS: Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States (winner of the 2022 Katharine Newman Best Essay Award), Feminist Theory, LA Review of Books, and Yale Review.
- Mary Anne Mohanraj is the author of The Stars Change and founder of the Hugo and World Fantasy Award-winning speculative literature magazine Strange Horizons. She serves as Executive Director of the Speculative Literature Foundation (speclit.org).
