The UIC Departments of Gender and Women’s Studies and Black Studies invite you to our upcoming “Valentine’s for Collective Care” event!
Celebrate love, care, and community with us through an afternoon of card-making for organizations at UIC and across our community that are working toward collective liberation. We will provide cards, art supplies, and all other materials, so come as you are and bring a friend!
We will write letters of appreciation and care to a variety of groups and communities on and off campus, including, but not limited to:
- The UIC Cultural and Resource Centers
- Chicago Abortion Fund, Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRRAP), and other groups supporting reproductive justice and healthcare
- Mijente, Organized Communities Against Deportations, AFIRE, and other groups supporting immigrant and undocumented communities
- The Transformative Justice Law Project of Illinois and other groups committed to LGBTQIA+ justice and liberation
- Incarcerated survivors of gender-based violence at Logan and Decatur Correctional Centers
We also invite you to write a letter to any organization or group that you wish to express love and appreciation! .
Stop by any time from 12:30pm-3:30pm on Thursday, February 13th in UH 1250.
