Prof. Gayatri Reddy quoted in “Exploring the Roots of Chicago’s Queer South Asian Community”

"Exploring the Roots of Chicago's Queer South Asian Community," the fourth episode of NBC Asian America’s five-part series documenting the history of LGBTQ Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, features UIC’s Global Asian Studies program through interviews with affiliated faculty member Gayatri Reddy, associate professor of anthropology and gender and women’s studies, and GLAS minor alumna Kavya Vaitla.  Also highlighted in the episode is UIC’s Queer Asian American Archives, which is based in the Daley Library, that was supported by an AANAPISI grant and created by former GLAS visiting faculty member Laura Fugikawa and Liz Thomson, a current UIC graduate student.
